    Don't believe the haters!!!5
I have read various negative testimonies about this device on the difficulty in configuring and overall quality. I purchased mine yesterday and I had absolutely no problem setting it up. I even now have it working on an old PS2 system with no problem! If you are patient and do everything step by step, you'll find once you plug in to your game console, its ready to play!

Preforms well but instructions are overly simple.4
I purchased this adapter to connect a launch 20GB PS3 console. I do believe some of the reviewers have underestimated the possible difficulty in setting up this device. While it is not technically difficult, the instructions, both paper and on the disc are less than helpful to novice users. There are some major caviots with the instruction manual and disc that are included with the adapter.

-The manual reads like an IKEA manual. It's overly simple and does not consider the various operating systems people may be using. I found much better instructions online via google. (Read the comments sections in this page and it'll give you an idea of what to expect: [...])

-The disc included is a mini-cd (88mm), which is not helpful to those that own laptops. Additionally, the program on the disc is windows only, very disappointing considering amazon lists mac as being supported. Disc aside, mac users can change the IP settings on the device via systems preferences>network, but of course don't have the support of the windows walk through disc/support.

-Nowhere in the manual is it mentioned you need to log in to the device via 10.10.10.254. I suspect this info is on the disc, but here again mac users or those unable to play a mini-cd are out of luck.

-I hope other reviewers will correct me if I am wrong but from what I could tell, this adapter does not support WEP wireless connections.

That said, the product preforms well. I'm able to get a good connection to my PS3 one floor below by wireless router. Just beware that some effort is involved in setting up the adapter and that there are serious limitations to the instructions and install disc. Here's hoping Mad Catz listens to the complaints regarding the awful instructions and support and does a much better job detailing the set-up process for future purchasers.

    Poor Quality control???1
I read all the reviews on Madcatz WGA for the Xbox 360 and saw that about 30 to 40% just gave up on it and sent it back. I figured I knew what I was doing, so I took a chance and picked one up.

While the instructions are poor, I was able to get the thing configured by accessing the WGA through my browser at 10.10.10.254. I was able to see my wireless network but was surprised at some of the signal strengths being a little low given that my WGA was 6 inches from my wireless router. I pinged it and got a response, so there definitely was a connection. Didn't really think of it and took it to the basement on the other side of the house and plugged it into the Xbox360. Nothing. Went back reset it and tried again. Went into the settings and tried configuring static IP address, etc. Nothing. Quit for the night. At work, I talked to one of out network guys and he said try a few things, I did and nothing.

Was going to give it one more try but my daughter was on our desktop where our wireless router is connected. Took the WGA and our laptop went into the next room connected the WGA to the laptop. Accessed the WGA through browser and could not pick up my wireless access point. It saw it, but signal strength was zero.

After all of the messing around with this thing, the problem was the thing was not receiving the wireless signal. So my guess is all those people who follow the instructions and can't get it to work, are victims of poor quality control. I might try this thing again, but then again it sounds like I am not the only one with this issue.
