Size between 360 controller and the "Duke"
Design is pretty sturdy and I like the Dual Shock layout of the analog sticks. In my opinion the analog pad feels a bit more loose than MSFT's own. The moving room for the analog sticks are actually rounded squares rather than circles. So there might be a slight problem for Halo and other shooters as you'll very likely use full range of motion. It will take some getting used to for Halo 3 so I recommend playing some Social Team Slayer and just go after the easy pickings for effortless kills so you can get used to.
The D-pad is great as I tried Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, Lumines, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I have no trouble for moves and I assume it will be great for Street Fighter IV.
The controller is larger than MSFT's own 360 pad. Don't get me wrong I actually love and missed the "Duke" and wish to play Halo 3 with it. The Saitek pad feels just as good as MSFT's own. People with smaller hands may not agree with this.
The buttons are solid including the Xbox guide button. I actually like the shoulder buttons better than MSFT's own and the triggers felt a bit easier to push.
I have yet to try this on a PC but I'll assume that MSFT's drivers will apply to Saitek's since this controller is a licensed product, and in personal experience I had no trouble with Nyko's controller to the PC.
I cannot give this controller 5 stars because of the "loose" analog sticks and rounded squares for motion. I gave it 4 instead for overall solid product and great D-pad.
If you are looking for a Dual Shock layout sticks and great D-pad then get this controller. Otherwise you'll probably be better off by buying an adapter to hook up Dual Shock 2 to the Xbox 360 or just stick with MSFT's own.
a very good quality controler
It is lighter than I expected with an extremely long cord. The buttons have the action and sturdy construction of a stock xbox controler. Only disappointment is the triggers, they are not far enough under the controler. Their Position is farther forward and moved slightly up than a standard xbox controler...
Saitek Rumble Pad rocks!
This is a great pad and cost much less than Microsoft's version. Also, the analog sticks are both in the center like my PS2 controllers, instead of switched like on other X-box controllers, so it's familiar to use.
