Fable 2 is the anticipated sequel to the popular original that sold more than 3 million copies. Created by famed game designer Peter Molyneux, Fable 2 for Xbox 360 features an epic story that picks up 500 years after the first game. It offers an open world environment giving players a massive amount of freedom to explore and play as they please, with every decision made contributing to the game itself.

Fable 2 provides players with a truly immersive experience where a virtually limitless number of choices can be made, all of which have their own consequences, making each game unique. When you start the game, you choose either to play the role of a boy or girl, and depending on your choices, the hero will grow up to be tall or short, good or evil. Players can get married and have children; female player characters will become pregnant, which will then be reflected by their physical appearance.
Early in the game, players are presented with a stray dog for a best friend, who will need to be fed and loved, and will accompany the player throughout his or her life. Depending on the player, the dog will change appearance and assist him or her in various ways, such as alerting of impending dangers and attacking enemies.
Players inhabit the world of Albion and are free to roam the land to as they please. Players can use different expressions to communicate with others, such as taunting and laughing, and even belching or farting.
As the players grow, so does Albion, reflecting the choices that were made earlier in the game. Every house, hut, castle, and dungeon can be purchased if the player wishes. Players can buy up all the land in a town and can become mayor, king, and even emperor of the entire land.
Fable 2 presents a dynamic and free-roaming world that doesn't demand a player to take any one set path. At the same time, players seeking a plot line will find an epic story and quest that they can follow if they wish, along with many side adventures.
Fight Using Different Weapons and Magic
Fable 2 introduces a new combat system that allows for mastery of hand weapons, such as swords, long range weapons such as cross-bows and guns, and, of course, magic. Players improve at each discipline with time, and can combine different combat styles when they fight. Other advanced design features include tactical positional advantages that can bring new strategic elements into combat.
Bring Other Players into Your World
Fable 2 has a multiplayer mode that allows you to bring other players into your own world. Consistent with the rest of the game, the actions of these other players can be permanent and affect your world. You can explore and fight together with these other players, share treasures, and even fight each other.
Note: Fable 2 will not ship with Online Co-op mode. An update with this functionality is rumored to be released shortly after the launch of the game.
Xbox LIVE Arcade Mini-Games
Gamers can play minigames through Xbox LIVE Arcade and earn currency that can be used in Fable 2 to purchase weapons, armor, and other items for the hero.
Fable 2 is rated M for having mature content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older.
Depending on your choices, the protagonist can turn out wildly different -- male, female, good, evil, and more.

Beautiful Graphics and Addicting Gameplay
Let me be the first to say that this is not a game for the casual gamer who wants to just pick something up and button mash. It's a mix of action & role playing with an added twist...moral consequences for your actions. Meet people, find treasure, start a family, gain power, customize your appearance, learn new abilities, become loved as a hero or feared as a villian....there are limitless variables which accompany the main storyline. Granted I didn't play Fable on the original XBOX, but I've never played anything quite like this. I really like the fact that despite the games complexity, you don't need a strategy guide....things are intuitive and the game will lead you in the right direction (using the "golden trail".
I'd guess I'm currently over halfway through the main quest. I have maintained a fairly moral path. I look forward to playing the game through again making immoral choices and gaining renown through villiany. Yes, I haven't completed the game yet and am looking forward to playing again.....high replay value IMO.
The Platinum Hits edition comes with both expansions, which make it the best value for someone who doesn't own a previous release of the game. This one has been worth every penny.
Extras make it better
Good game. The original story was intense but not long enough. The customization was okay in the regular edition, better with the later editions.
With the extras from this edition, there are a few more hours of gameplay and better customization. The extra content makes it so much better. I liked the new storylines and options.
Not Fable, but enjoyed it anyway! Ending Spoiler...
I suppose the most important part of this review is that I want to point out that this is NOT as great as Fable. It seemed a little more forced here to make it magical and it just wasn't as good. I loved it anyway though.
The Goods:
-Graphics are great, environments are great, and the customization levels are fairly decent.
-The decisions are a lot of fun. It's fun building a good character, building a bad character, and having another to do whatever it is you would do case by case.
-Game length is decent. It's no 40 hour RPG, but you'll have plenty of options to keep you going. You can get through the main story VERY quickly if you choose to go linear and play only the main story line.
-Platinum includes all add-on material, which saves you a bundle from buying it in the arcade.
The Bad:
-The boss battles are NOT epic. There are not many large bosses, which is something I love about action games, and something that Fable has the ability to throw in since it's such a magical and fantasy based game.
-*SPOILER* The final boss battle is obnoxiously short. Most games build up to that awesome final battle. This one would surely disappoint you like it did me.
-Gambling (Pub Games) are kind of stupid for achievement hunters. Take a long time.
Overall:
-This game is definately worth picking up at the listed price. It's a fun and simple game. Great for the family, though you may want to allow older kids to play as the action, while not bloody, does have certain over-the-top elements such as keeping the heads keeping bad guys heads as trophys to show off. Some of the bad elements are hilarious, but crude, like farting. The game is a lot of fun.
Achievements:
-The game has a lot of easy achievements that you get as you go. Some require you to play the game multiple times (choose the different endings, be good or be bad). Some are just play tough. This is not an easy 1000 (more if you have the platinum version or DLed material).
